TECHNICAL REGULATIONS
2002 RACING SEASON
MIATA CLUB RACING
TECHNICAL REGULATIONS
Foreword
The events governed by these Regulations are called MIATA CLUB of the Philippines (MCP) sports car races. Their purpose is to permit the enjoyment of MIATA sports cars in the controlled conditions of the racing circuit. MIATA races are different from other forms of motor racing in the sense that the essential ingredient, required of all participants, is genuine enthusiasm and gentlemanly behavior during races.
A style of driving that puts at risk the safety of other drivers or competing cars will be cause for the immediate disqualification of the driver and his suspension from future events.
These Regulations, prepared and administered by the MIATA Club of the Philippines, a non-profit organization, are based on the general spirit of the International Sporting Code1 and take into account rules of other clubs2 in the region and in the United States. As club Racing matures, it is expected that there will be greater adherence to Appendix K and less tolerance for departures from specifications. While MCP has taken great care in the preparation of these Regulations, MCP must note that, ultimately, each competitor must alone be solely responsible for the safety and preparation of his motor car.
